What to Expect

Contras, squares, and more.

Beginners welcome, Partner not required. Soft-soled shoes please! Casual dress.

All dances are preceded by instruction and a walk-through.

Perhaps you are asking yourself, "What is contra dance?" Your questions will be answered by a visit to one or more of the contra dances sites below.

Suggested Donation

$5.00 at the door.

First Presbyterian Church of Charleston

The First Presbyterian Church of Charleston is the primary location for the FOOTMAD contra dances. Our contra dances are held in the Activities Building on the ground floor.

Kanawha United Presbyterian Church

The Kanawha United Presbyterian Church is the alternate location for FOOTMAD contra dances, used when the primary location is unavailable. Our contra dances are held in the church gymnasium.
