The FOOTMAD dance season runs October through May. Dances are held on the third Friday of the month during the season.

Whitewater Whirl

Dance Weekend, Fayette County Park/4H Camp, Beckwith [near Fayetteville], WV.

From the dance floor to the dining hall to the rural park setting, beautiful Fayette County Park / 4H Camp, is fabulous site for a weekend of dance, music and out-door recreation in West Virginia.

The weekend features an outstanding lineup of callers, musicians, dancers, workshops and more.

For the dancer who wants to experience the thrill of outdoor West Virginia, the Whirl offers unique activites on Saturday, including: whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking, horse back excursions, and more.

What to expect

Contras, squares, and more.

Beginners welcome, Partner not required. Soft-soled shoes please! Casual dress.

All dances are preceded by instruction and a walk-through.

Perhaps you are asking yourself, "What is contra dance?" Your questions will be answered by a visit to one or more of the contra dances sites below.

Time
  • Dances start at 8:00 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m.
  • Contra dance workshop for new dancers: 7:30 p.m.
