The festival is near one of the West Virginia's and the nation's premier recreation, the New River Gorge National River and the Gauley River National Recreation Area.
Whitewater Rafting
  If you crave excitement in addtional to great music and dance, try a heartpounding raft trip on the Gauley. Gauley Season will be in full swing. Or for calmer adventures, try a trip on the New River. Numerous rafting companies are within 5 miles of the festival grounds.
Hiking
  Easily accessible withing 5 - 10 miles of the festival.
