New Deal Festival - The Rich Family Memorial Old-Time Fiddle Contest

Arthurdale Heritage is thrilled to host the first Rich Family Memorial Old-Time Fiddle Contest during our New Deal Festival in 2025. This contest is a celebration of Arthurdale’s history of traditional music-making with the goal of encouraging and sustaining traditional fiddling styles in North Central West Virginia.

Arthurdale is having it's first fiddle contest since 1936 during this year's New Deal Festival! To honor the legacy of The Rich Family who had such a meaningful impact in Arthurdale's musical beginnings, the contest is being named “The Rich Family Memorial Old-Time Fiddle Contest”.
