    Fayetteville has many restaurants that feature great food served in an informal atmosphere. In the past couple of years several favorite local restaurants have closed. Undoubtedly, some new - potential favorites that we do not know - have opened. Listed below some favorites that we know and recommend and that are still open for diners!

    Cathedral Cafe (Fayetteville) - Breakfast, lunch, and also dinner on the weekends. Good food, full coffee bar, no alcohol, good desserts, inexpensive to moderate, great ambiance, popular with both the outdoor crowd and local bizness types. The vegetable panini sandwich is hard to beat.

    Pies N Pints (Fayetteville) - Gourmet, thin-crust pizzas, salads, sandwiches and good microbrews.

This time of year is prime time for warbler viewing during their migration through the region, hence the Birding Festival.
